Kelvin Umechukwu

Kelvin Umechukwu is the Co-Founder and CEO of Bumpa, a social commerce platform often dubbed the Shopify of Africa, empowering SMEs to launch and manage online stores from their mobile devices.
Kelvin holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University and completed entrepreneurship studies at Universita Bocconi, before serving as Program Manager at Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB) and Head of Business Development at TechQuest STEM Academy, where he drove 500% YOY revenue growth in 2019.
Kelvin co-founded Bumpa after recognizing the gap between African SMEs and digital tools while building custom e-commerce websites for entrepreneurs, and has been recognized among Nigeria's top #YTech100 innovators.
Bumpa is backed by Base10 Partners, Plug and Play Ventures, Google Black Founders Fund, and Fast Forward Venture Studio, raising over $4.2M across two funding rounds since its 2021 launch.
Under Kelvin's leadership, Bumpa has onboarded over 50,000 SMEs within two years and integrated with Meta platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp to supercharge social commerce across Africa.
