Ki-young Song (also known as Kiyoung Song) is the Founder and CEO of Holiday Robotics, a South Korean physical AI company pioneering the commercialization of general-purpose humanoid robots for industrial manufacturing.
Song co-founded SUALAB in 2013, a deep learning-based machine vision inspection company, which was acquired by U.S.-based Cognex in 2019 for approximately $195-200 million, marking one of the largest M&A deals in Korean tech startup history.
Following the SUALAB acquisition, Song joined Cognex and led one of the world's largest deep learning teams for industrial machine vision, building deep expertise in scaling AI hardware-software systems for global manufacturing markets.
In April 2024, Song founded Holiday Robotics and secured a $13.2M seed round within four months, followed by a record-breaking $103.4M Series A in 2026, the largest Series A ever raised by a Korean startup.
Holiday Robotics has assembled a 50-person team from MIT, Seoul National University, KAIST, and Samsung Electronics, and is conducting proof-of-concept trials in automotive, semiconductor, and logistics sectors ahead of its flagship FRIDAY humanoid robot commercial launch.
