Kevin Pan

Kevin Pan is Co-Founder at Salus (YC W26), an AI agent guardrails platform that validates actions before they execute. Salus wraps around AI agents to block incorrect actions at runtime and provides immediate feedback to guide retries.
Kevin graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Symbolic Systems, where he studied computer science and was roommates with his co-founder Vedant Singh. He previously worked at WindBorne Systems, a weather forecasting technology company.
Kevin and Vedant built Salus to solve the critical problem of AI agents making costly mistakes like processing refunds without verification or sending emails with hallucinated data. Their solution reduces misalignment by 52% on average across 12 frontier models.
Salus participated in Y Combinator's Winter 2026 batch and has demonstrated strong technical results, with agents following policies more reliably at up to 60% lower cost. In their benchmarks, 58% of blocked actions successfully recover and complete tasks correctly.
Salus provides runtime validation for AI agents through an API that checks actions against evidence caches and policy constraints. The platform includes PII detection, budget protection, human-in-the-loop escalation, and content moderation capabilities for enterprise AI deployments.
