Kirill

Kirill Makarov is Co-Founder and CTO at Ascii (ascii.dev), the Paris-based AI infrastructure startup behind boat, the most affordable and powerful full-VM sandbox platform built for AI agents, backed by Y Combinator (F26) and f.inc.
Kirill earned an Engineer's degree from INSA Lyon and completed a Master's at the University of Jyvaskyla, building a strong foundation in software engineering and data science before launching Ascii in 2024.
With a background spanning full-stack development, API performance optimization, and decentralized finance modeling, Kirill brings a rare blend of systems-level thinking and applied research to the agentic infrastructure space.
Prior to Ascii, Kirill served as a Software Engineer at Volvo Group, a Full-stack Developer at Ubikap where he optimized API performance in production, and co-founded farswap, a DeFi trading optimization venture.
Ascii's flagship product boat offers full Linux VM sandboxes at up to 5x lower cost than competitors, supports thousands of concurrent agent workloads, and has attracted backing from Y Combinator's F26 cohort and f.inc.
