Konstantin Vinogradov

Konstantin is Founder and Chair of the Board at Open Source Endowment, the world's first endowment fund dedicated exclusively to open source software. He is an angel investor specializing in open source, AI, and infrastructure software, based in London with frequent presence in the SF Bay Area.
Konstantin studied math, physics, and computer science at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and started programming at age 13. He was previously General Partner at Runa Capital, a VC firm with over $600M AUM that backed 100+ enterprise software and deep tech startups including n8n, Nginx, MariaDB, and Mambu.
Konstantin created and led the ROSS Index from 2020 to 2025, a quarterly ranking of the fastest-growing open source startups. He was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2019 and is a Kauffman Fellows Class 30 member.
The Open Source Endowment achieved 501(c)(3) status in February 2025 and has raised over $750,000 in commitments from 50+ donors including founders of GitHub, HashiCorp, Supabase, Vue.js, and cURL. Konstantin's goal is to reach $100M in assets within seven years.
The endowment uses a university-style model, investing donations and distributing only investment returns to fund critical but underfunded open source projects. His investments include Mastra, Twenty, White Circle, and Keep (acquired by Elastic).
