Lee Robinson

Lee Robinson is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of General Matter, America's newest private-sector uranium enrichment company, on a mission to restore domestic nuclear fuel production and reduce U.S. reliance on foreign adversaries for critical energy resources.
Lee served as an Army Intelligence Officer with the elite 75th Ranger Regiment, earned his Ranger Tab, and later advised some of Europe's largest institutional investors at Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund, before pivoting to national security energy policy.
Lee co-founded and led the Department of Defense's energy portfolio at the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), launching the majority of DIU's 35 energy projects including the Advanced Nuclear Power for Installations program, and remains a Senior Advisor there while serving as a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
At General Matter, Lee co-leads a team of two dozen engineers, nuclear scientists, and safety experts drawn from SpaceX, Tesla, Anduril, and national laboratories, and has secured a landmark DOE lease at the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Kentucky for a $1.5B commercial enrichment facility.
General Matter raised $50M in Series A funding led by Founders Fund, was selected by the DOE as one of four companies to provide HALEU enrichment services, and its Paducah facility is projected to create 140 high-paying jobs and generate $71M in annual economic benefit for the region.
