Lewis C Jones

Lewis C Jones is Co-Founder and CTO at Cosmic Robotics, a San Francisco-based company developing AI-powered autonomous robots to accelerate solar farm construction and critical infrastructure on Earth and beyond.
Lewis holds a Bachelor of Arts/Science from the California Institute of Technology and previously served as a rocket engine engineer at Relativity Space, where he helped launch the world's first 3D-printed rocket, and also built experience at SpaceX.
A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree in Manufacturing and Industry (2026), Lewis left his aerospace career to tackle what he sees as a more urgent frontier: modernizing the energy infrastructure and construction industry through robotics.
At Cosmic Robotics, Lewis leads the technical development of the Cosmic-1A, an autonomous all-electric mobile robot capable of installing large-format solar panels with millimeter-level precision, helping win a U.S. Department of Energy American-Made Solar Prize.
Cosmic Robotics raised $4M in Seed funding led by Giant Ventures, with backing from MaC Venture Capital and HCVC, and its Cosmic-1A robot can match the pace of the fastest human solar installers while operating continuously in harsh field conditions.
