Liam Germain is Co-Founder and CTO of Sandstone, an AI-powered operating system for in-house legal teams that enables modern legal departments to move at the speed of AI and deliver measurable outcomes.

Liam studied at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated in 2023 and first connected with co-founder Nick Fleisher as first-year roommates bonded by a shared passion for startups.

Prior to Sandstone, Liam served as an engineering and design leader at cyber and mapping software companies, bringing deep technical expertise to an underserved corner of the legal market.

Sandstone raised a $10M seed round led by Sequoia Capital in January 2025, followed by a $30M Series A led by Lightspeed Venture Partners just six months later, with backing from Mantis VC, SV Angel, and others.

Sandstone has assembled a world-class team of former Big Law lawyers, Fortune 500 general counsel, and engineers from Google and Microsoft, positioning itself as the defining platform for in-house legal operations.
