Logan Carmody

Logan Carmody is Co-Founder and CTO at Cotool, an AI-powered cybersecurity platform that automates security workflows and eliminates repetitive tasks for security operations teams. Cotool's platform has helped early users cut investigation time by 90% and reduce detection engineering work by 70%.
Logan was an early engineer and technical lead for Phishing Protection at Material Security, where he developed the proprietary threat detection language used by security researchers. Prior to that, he served as Staff Software Engineer at LinkedIn, leading the Frontend API Infrastructure Team and building reactive resiliency systems.
Logan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with a Philosophy minor from Duke University, graduating in 2017. He also studied Computer Science at University College London as an Affiliate Student from 2015 to 2016.
Before founding Cotool in 2025, Logan collaborated with cutting-edge security teams at OpenAI, Coinbase, Figma, and DoorDash, experiencing firsthand the challenges of alert fatigue and fragmented security tools. Cotool raised a 7.4M seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz and is backed by Y Combinator (Spring 2025).
Cotool provides AI agents and a co-pilot that automatically assemble context across security tools, enabling no-code automation for security teams. The platform is based in San Francisco and serves security teams looking to focus on threat hunting instead of manual documentation and context switching.
