Lucas earned his Doctor of Marriage and Family Therapy (DMFT) from Argosy University and built an extensive academic and clinical career, serving as Clinical Director of a nationally accredited MFT graduate program at St. Cloud State University and later as faculty at Northcentral University. He also maintained a private clinical practice and authored a published textbook on marriage and family therapy.
Lucas is a published researcher whose work on Global Systems Theory and Global Family Therapy has appeared in The American Journal of Family Therapy and been presented at national conferences. He has championed the idea that public health innovators must embrace venture capital as a tool for scaling solutions to systemic mental healthcare challenges.
At Allia Health, Lucas leads clinical strategy and product direction for a platform used by 8,000 plus independent mental health clinicians across the US, overseeing a Tim Draper-backed, $2M funded startup with angel support from Stanford Healthcare Innovation Labs. He previously founded MFT Licensing Exam LLC, a specialized test prep company serving Marriage and Family Therapy licensure candidates nationally.
Allia Health has rapidly become one of the fastest-growing distribution platforms in behavioral health, with over 8,000 clinicians running their practices on the platform and a mission to rebuild behavioral healthcare infrastructure around the people who deliver care.
