Mahesh Sathiamoorthy is Co-Founder and CEO of Bespoke Labs, a research-driven AI company building the reinforcement learning environments and infrastructure that make AI agents reliable for frontier labs and enterprises.

Mahesh earned his B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur and his MS/PhD from USC, before spending years at Google Brain and Google DeepMind as a Staff Software Engineer specializing in large language models and recommender systems.

At Google, Mahesh pioneered Semantic IDs and Generative Retrieval for Recommender Systems, a breakthrough now deployed or actively researched across YouTube, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Meta, Spotify, Alibaba, and Kuaishou, fundamentally reshaping the recommender systems field.

He was also the first to productionize TPUs for recommender systems at YouTube, reshaping its compute strategy, and earned over 50 peer and spot bonuses, 5+ performance awards, and a KDD 2023 Best Paper Award during his Google tenure.

Bespoke Labs raised $40M across seed and Series A rounds, with its open reasoning dataset OpenThoughts downloaded over 500,000 times and used by Meta, Amazon, and Thinking Machines Lab, while its Terminal-Bench benchmark is cited by Anthropic and Google DeepMind.
