Maitrai Maka

Maitrai Maka is Co-Founder and CEO of Rekise Marine, an Indian marine robotics company building autonomous ships and submarines for defence and commercial maritime applications.
Maitrai graduated as Batch Topper in Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture from IIT Kharagpur (2013-2017) and has spent over a decade working on marine robotic systems.
A naval architect by training, Maitrai believes maritime power in the future will be built around low-cost autonomous systems, and that vessel design, sensors, and software must be built as one integrated system.
He co-founded Rekise Marine in 2017 alongside Rear Admiral Shekhar Mital (Retd), former Chairman and MD of Goa Shipyard Limited, combining deep engineering expertise with senior naval leadership.
Rekise has raised a total of $14.42M across multiple rounds (including a $9.7M seed round led by Accel and NKSquared), delivered autonomous vessels to DRDO and the Indian Navy, and is currently developing Jalkapi, an extra-large autonomous underwater vehicle under the Indian Navy's iDEX ADITI programme.
