Malay Gandhi

Malay Gandhi is Founding Advisor at Phylo, an applied AI research lab building technology to accelerate biological discovery through integrated AI-native environments. He co-founded Ensemble Labs, an angel investment fund focused on health and life sciences startups.
Malay served as Chief Strategy Officer at Benchling, the pioneer of the R&D Cloud for life sciences. Prior to Benchling, he was CEO and Managing Director of Rock Health, SVP of Business Operations at Evidation Health, and Executive in Residence at Greylock Partners.
Malay holds a Masters in Health Policy and Management from the University of Pittsburgh and a BS from West Virginia University. His work in digital health has been cited in The New York Times, Financial Times, CNBC, NPR, and Bloomberg.
As an investor, Malay originated early stage investments in Benchling, Collective Health, Evidation, Honor, Stride Health, and Virta among others. Through Ensemble Labs, he has invested in Inductive Bio, Marley Medical, Natalist, and Solv.
At Rock Health, Malay helped shape the early digital health ecosystem and invested in category-defining companies. His portfolio companies have collectively raised hundreds of millions in venture funding and transformed healthcare delivery and life sciences research.
