Marcus is Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Encore, a backend development platform that automates cloud infrastructure and DevOps, and founder of Leap, an AI developer agent for building production-grade applications.

Marcus spent 8 years at Spotify (2012-2020) as Group Product Manager and Product Area Lead for Premium services, where he led subscription and payment platform teams and contributed to growing Spotify's paid subscriber base globally.

Marcus studied Industrial Engineering and Management at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (2009-2014) and founded Productical in 2017. He has deep expertise in product management, growth strategies, retention, and building distributed systems at scale.

Encore raised $3M in seed funding in 2022 led by Crane Venture Partners, with backing from notable angels including Bucky Moore (Kleiner Perkins) and Mehdi Ghissassi (Google DeepMind). The company launched Leap in May 2025, attracting thousands of developers and gaining recognition as one of Wired's Hottest European Startups 2023.

Encore's open-source framework has over 10,000 GitHub stars and helps teams achieve 2-3x faster development speed and 90% reduction in DevOps workload. The platform enables developers to build cloud-agnostic backends with automated infrastructure provisioning across AWS and GCP.
