Marcus Lima

Marcus Lima is Co-Founder and CEO of Torus (YC S26), an agentic AI engineering platform built to help capital project engineering firms design and deliver infrastructure dramatically faster.
Marcus graduated from Oxford and Cambridge universities, where he co-developed the core technology behind his first venture, Heimdal, while completing his master's program in engineering. He previously worked as a management consultant in Scandinavia before pivoting full-time to deep tech entrepreneurship.
A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and 2x Y Combinator founder, Marcus brings rare cross-disciplinary depth spanning climate tech, industrial engineering, and AI. His firsthand pain of overseeing hundreds of engineering document iterations at Heimdal's DAC facility directly inspired Torus.
At Heimdal (YC S21), Marcus built and operated the largest direct air capture facility in the world, raising $9.7M at a $63M valuation with backing from investors including Sam Altman and Marc Benioff. He now channels that operational expertise into Torus, working with multiple Fortune 500 companies on critical infrastructure including data centers and energy installations.
Torus enables engineering firms to build infrastructure up to 10x faster by deploying AI agents that read and cross-reference P&IDs, HMBs, and spec sheets across complex capital projects. The company is part of Y Combinator's Summer 2026 batch and is actively hiring to scale its San Francisco-based team.
