Maria T. Carmona, MBA, is the Founder and CEO of Kivira, an AI-powered mental health diagnostic platform operating at the diagnostic infrastructure layer of primary care.

Maria holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is a 3x tech founder with prior exits to private equity, having also built ventures including collectum and Liizt.

Driven by a deeply personal experience watching a family member endure years of mental health misdiagnoses growing up in Venezuela, Maria channeled that journey into building technology that gives clinicians trusted, reproducible diagnostic outputs from day one.

Maria won first place at the Global New Venture Challenge at Chicago Booth, earning a $50,000 prize, and secured $1.8M in pre-seed funding led by Wellstar Health System's corporate venture arm, with backing from Antler and the Polsky Center.

Kivira is partnering with Stanford Center for Precision Psychiatry and piloting with UChicago Medicine to validate clinical efficacy, positioning the platform as foundational diagnostic infrastructure for the entire healthcare system.
