Marius Jurgilas

Marius Jurgilas is Co-Founder and CEO at Axiology, a Lithuania-based DLT platform for tokenized securities operating under the EU DLT Pilot Regime. He previously served as Board Member at the Bank of Lithuania, where he led payments infrastructure, fintech development, and digital innovation initiatives.
Marius holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Connecticut and worked as an economist at the Bank of England, Norges Bank (Central Bank of Norway), and the European Central Bank. He played a pivotal role in creating Lithuania's payments infrastructure that facilitated the growth of the fintech ecosystem in the region.
Dr. Jurgilas led groundbreaking projects including LBCOIN, the world's first blockchain-based digital collector coin, and participated in digital Euro experimentation by the ECB and Project Rosalind, a CBDC experiment by the Bank for International Settlements. He also serves on the University Council at Vilnius University.
Axiology raised 2 million euros in 2024 from Coinvest Capital and Baltic Sandbox Ventures, followed by a 5 million euro seed round in February 2026 led by Exponential Science, e2vc, and Coinvest Capital. The company was selected to participate in the Eurosystem's DLT testing for settlement in central bank money.
Since launching operations in September 2025, Axiology has introduced three services: a securities depository, shareholder registry management with over 21 million euros in shares recorded, and a Multilateral Trading Facility. The platform is working with Lithuania's Ministry of Finance on digital Government Defence Bonds to democratize access to bonds across the European Economic Area.
