Mark Geary is Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Happy Pay, a Cape Town-based fintech pioneering Africa's first ad-subsidised, interest-free Buy Now Pay Later platform.

Mark studied at the University of Cape Town and spent over nine years in an executive role at ikeja, a South African tech venture, before co-founding Happy Pay in 2021.

A self-described serial entrepreneur with a passion for building innovative and impactful products, Mark brings deep technical leadership to the intersection of fintech, commerce, and AI.

Mark led the technical buildout of Happy Pay's Shopify integration and its AI-driven recommendations engine, which matches high-intent shoppers with merchants in real time.

Happy Pay has surpassed 600,000 registered users and raised $5 million in seed funding led by Partech, with backing from Futuregrowth Asset Management, 4Di Capital, E4E Africa, and Equitable Ventures.
