Mark Robbins

Mark Robbins is the Chief Executive of SugaROx, a UK AgTech spin-out from Oxford University and Rothamsted Research developing first-in-class crop biostimulants to improve yield, resilience, and sustainability.
With 35+ years leading FTSE 250 and PE-backed chemical manufacturing firms, Mark brings deep industrial expertise to the agri-tech space. Prior to SugaROx, he served as Chief Executive at UQUIFA, where he played a key role in acquisitions and business growth, and also scaled a EUR 130M speciality chemicals business across four countries.
Mark also holds a Non-Executive Director role at William Blythe Limited and completed a PADE programme in Business Administration at IESE. His cross-sector experience in life sciences and speciality chemicals gives him a rare ability to bridge scientific innovation with commercial scale-up.
As CEO, Mark leads strategy, fundraising, and manufacturing partnerships at SugaROx, having joined in 2022 to take the innovation from lab to field. Under his leadership, SugaROx has raised over $4M in funding from investors including Regenerate Ventures, UK Innovation Science and Seed Fund, Future Planet Capital, and The Mosaic Company.
SugaROx's T6P biostimulant has demonstrated 3-15% yield improvements in wheat and barley across 40+ trials, with a UK product launch targeted for 2027-2028 and expansion into the EU and US to follow.
