Mathieu Rabaey is Co-Founder and Head of Product at SpectaCell, a Belgian life sciences spinout pioneering next-generation cell analysis technology for immunotherapy development.

Mathieu built deep expertise in hardware and product development, holding roles as Director of Design and Manufacturing at Antelope Dx, Senior Hardware Engineer at Unchained Labs, and Team Leader of R&D Hardware at Trinean, alongside business development work at the Photonics Research Group at Ghent University and imec.

With a background spanning semiconductor hardware, diagnostics instrumentation, and photonics, Mathieu brings rare cross-disciplinary depth to building complex life sciences tools from conception through to production.

SpectaCell launched in October 2026 with a EUR 6 million seed round led by imec.xpand, with participation from PMV's Flanders Future Tech Fund, InnovationQuarter Capital, Qbic, and VIB.

SpectaCell's label-free, chip-based imaging platform delivers single-cell insights within hours rather than days, targeting biopharma and biotech companies worldwide to accelerate the development of cancer immunotherapies and other advanced medicines.
