Matt Crisp

Matt Crisp is Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Lilac Agriculture, an agbiotech startup developing a next-generation platform for crop inoculants that prioritizes real-world consistency, competitiveness, and yield.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Radford University and built his career spanning venture capital at Third Security, executive leadership at Intrexon Corporation, and over a decade as CEO and Co-Founder of publicly traded agtech company Benson Hill.
Recognized as a leader at the intersection of agriculture, biotechnology, and sustainable systems, Matt brings deep expertise in venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and early-stage commercialization of technology companies.
Matt currently serves as Chairman and CEO of Ichor Agriculture and Executive Chairman of Quercus Biosolutions and Edison Agrosciences, while also running Crisp and Company, an advisory and investment platform he founded in 2012.
Lilac Agriculture closed an oversubscribed $2.3M seed round backed by Innova Memphis, 701 Fund, Evergreen Climate Innovations, and others, with its inoculant outperforming a leading commercial product in multi-site field trials across the Northern Plains.
