Matt Price is Co-Founder and COO at Hayzel, a cleantech startup transforming data center cooling systems into carbon-free energy-generating assets by retrofitting existing chillers with proprietary turbines.

Matt graduated from Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering with a degree in materials science and engineering, and later earned his MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.

A Kauffman Fellow, Matt brings nearly two decades of deep expertise spanning fuel cell engineering, energy venture capital, and hard-tech commercialization.

Prior to Hayzel, Matt served as Managing Director at Cyclotron Road (a DOE-backed hard-tech fellowship at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab), VP at Enlighted Inc., and Principal at cleantech VC firm Nth Power.

Hayzel built and deployed its first turbine at a California data center in 2025, with third-party validation underway and early traction establishing it as a rising innovator in data center energy efficiency.
