Matthias Auf der Mauer

Matthias Auf der Mauer is Co-Founder and CEO of Juna AI, a Berlin-based company revolutionizing industrial process control through AI-driven automation. Juna AI raised $7.5 million in seed funding led by Kleiner Perkins in 2024.
Matthias studied Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zurich, earning his Bachelor's (2010-2014) and Master's (2014-2016) degrees, with a year at UC Berkeley. He previously founded AiSight, a predictive maintenance startup that was acquired by Swiss sensor maker Sensirion in 2021.
Matthias has deep expertise in industrial AI and machine learning, having led AiSight from founding in 2018 to a successful exit. He focuses on energy-intensive industries like chemicals, steel, and cement to drive sustainability and efficiency gains.
Juna AI emerged from stealth mode in November 2024 and already serves multiple customers in Germany's heavy manufacturing sector. The company's AI agents optimize complex industrial processes in real-time, reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.
Manufacturing accounts for 40% of global energy consumption, and Juna AI's platform helps factories balance production output, energy costs, and sustainability goals. The company plans to expand beyond Germany with its growing customer base and team of six employees.
