Maximilian Fischer

Maximilian Fischer is Co-Founder and CEO of Almetra, a Berlin-based industrial AI company that deploys computer vision and edge AI to give factory teams real-time visibility into their production lines.
Maximilian studied Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zurich, pursued graduate research in quantum materials and physical chemistry, and co-founded HackZurich, Switzerland's largest hackathon, before pivoting from academia to entrepreneurship.
Maximilian believes most factories are effectively operating blind, losing capacity without knowing where or why, and that giving manufacturers certainty instead of guesswork is the key to unlocking industrial productivity.
Prior to Almetra, Maximilian co-founded Actyx in 2016, a factory digitization platform that scaled to over 40 manufacturing sites, and was also a founding member at Merantix, the Berlin AI studio where Almetra was originally incubated.
Almetra has grown to around 40 employees, counts Bosch, Siemens Energy, ABB, and Aumovio among its clients, and has raised over 20M euros in total funding, with customers reporting productivity gains of up to 20 percent.
