Mazin Al-Ani is Co-Founder of Definite, a Y Combinator S26-backed AI startup building the most accurate financial reporting agents for banks and financial institutions.

Mazin studied Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, where he met his co-founders, and gained hands-on experience interning at Meta, Optiver, and BitGo, witnessing firsthand the costly inefficiencies of manual regulatory reporting.

Working at BitGo and Optiver revealed a critical gap: attestations and regulatory filings were assembled by hand every period, with no system to verify accuracy downstream, inspiring Mazin to build a better solution.

Mazin previously co-founded Ledgix before launching Definite, where he now leads efforts to automate the generation and verification of regulatory reports for financial institutions using AI agents.

Definite's verification engine independently rechecks every line of a regulatory filing against ledger records and a versioned rulebook, eliminating manual errors and setting a new standard for accuracy in financial compliance reporting.
