Ömer Hasan Omar

Ömer Omar is Co-Founder and CEO at Apoello, an AI-enabled materials discovery platform for organic electronics and renewable energy technologies.
Ömer served as Research Project Coordinator in Chemistry at the University of Liverpool, specializing in high-throughput virtual screening, computational chemistry, and data science for the DiaDEM project.
Ömer has published multiple peer-reviewed papers in leading journals on computational chemistry and organic electronics, with research cited over 478 times. He holds a PhD from the University of Liverpool.
Apoello secured £470k in pre-seed funding from SFC Capital, British Business Bank, and University of Liverpool in October 2025. The company spun out from the EIC Transition project DiaDEM, co-founded with Professor Alessandro Troisi.
Apoello's platform aims to reduce materials discovery timelines and costs by up to 30% by digitizing the materials science process and reducing reliance on failed experiments through advanced computational modeling.
