Meriem Sefta is CEO and Co-founder of Waiv, a Paris-based AI precision testing company transforming oncology diagnostics by turning routine digital pathology data into actionable clinical insights.

Meriem studied biology, chemistry, and computer science at Ecole Polytechnique before advancing her education at MIT, then built deep expertise in medical AI and diagnostics as Chief Diagnostics Officer at Owkin.

Meriem has championed the vision of making AI-enabled precision testing the global clinical standard, publicly driving the mission that precision medicine only works when patients are reliably matched to the right therapies.

At Owkin, Meriem led the diagnostics division (Owkin Dx) that developed and commercialized AI tests for cancer biomarker detection and patient stratification, forging partnerships with MSD, Merck, and AstraZeneca.

Waiv launched in 2026 with $33M in Series A funding and multiple clinical-grade tests already deployed in real-world settings, with a platform serving laboratories, clinicians, and global pharmaceutical partners across precision oncology.
