Michael Adeyeri

Michael Adeyeri is Co-Founder and CEO at Busha, a leading cryptocurrency exchange and digital asset platform serving over 1 million users across Africa. Busha became the first crypto platform to receive a provisional license from Nigeria's Securities and Exchange Commission in 2024.
Michael studied Systems Engineering at the University of Lagos and worked as a software engineer at Jumia Nigeria, one of Africa's pioneering e-commerce companies. He also co-founded Formplus and worked at companies including Yousend, SureGifts, KraksTV and UBA Group.
Michael and co-founder Moyo Sodipo started building Busha in 2018 after experiencing the challenges of accessing cryptocurrency in Africa firsthand. The platform launched publicly in February 2019 with a mission to onboard millions of Africans into the crypto economy.
Busha raised $4.2 million in seed funding in November 2021 led by Jump Capital, with participation from Cadenza Ventures, Blockwall Capital, CMT Digital, and others. The company has grown from 200,000 users at the time of funding to over 1 million users today.
Under Michael's leadership, Busha survived Nigeria's crypto ban and regulatory challenges to become a trusted, SEC-licensed platform. The company has expanded from Nigeria to Kenya and recently launched in the UK, positioning itself as the all-in-one financial platform for Africans to achieve economic freedom.
