Michael Blicher Sorensen is Co-Founder and CEO of Velatir, a Danish AI governance startup helping European enterprises gain real-time visibility, control, and compliance over their AI usage.

Michael previously served as Data Center Security Lead at Meta, where he worked with global risk models and security programs for mission-critical infrastructure, and also served as a military intelligence officer in Denmark.

Michael holds internationally recognized credentials including Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor, and earned a master's degree in International Security and Law. He was selected for Berlingske's Talent 100 for his work integrating security, analysis, and technology into business solutions.

Under Michael's leadership, Velatir raised a pre-seed round of DKK 10 million led by Ugly Duckling Ventures, followed by a EUR 5 million seed round led by Spintop Ventures, and has expanded to six European markets. The company is backed by Norrsken Evolve, NVIDIA Inception, and Microsoft for Startups.

Velatir grew from zero to 80 customers across six European countries in just seven months, and is now scaling to additional European offices including Stockholm, France, the Netherlands, and the Nordics.
