Michael Blum

Dr. Michael Blum, MD is the Founding CEO and Co-Inventor at BeeKeeperAI, a pioneering zero-trust, confidential computing platform enabling secure AI development and deployment in healthcare and regulated industries.
A chemical engineer by training, Dr. Blum earned his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine and spent over a decade as UCSF's Associate Vice Chancellor for Informatics and Chief Digital Transformation Officer, where he founded and led the Center for Digital Health Innovation (CDHI).
A clinical cardiologist who specializes in preventative cardiology and congestive heart failure, Dr. Blum uniquely bridges engineering rigor and medical expertise, having also founded a health tech software startup during his residency at Yale.
BeeKeeperAI spun out of UCSF's CDHI in 2022, with Dr. Blum stepping down from his academic leadership role to lead the company full-time, backed by investors including Sante Ventures, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, AIX Ventures, Continuum Health Ventures, and UCSF.
BeeKeeperAI raised a $12.1M Series A in 2023, partnered with Microsoft Azure as part of the Pegasus program, and enabled landmark collaborations with Morehouse School of Medicine and Icahn School of Medicine to validate AI models on real-world healthcare data.
