Michael Shynar

Michael Shynar is Co-Founder and CTO at Kulipa, a Paris-based stablecoin-native card-issuing platform enabling fintech companies to issue globally accepted payment cards funded directly from stablecoin balances.
Michael spent 8 years as a Staff Engineer and engineering manager at Google, then led the development of WhatsApp's Commerce Platform at Meta, accumulating over a decade of big tech infrastructure experience.
Driven by a desire to build something new after years in large tech organizations, Michael transitioned into Web3 at the height of the 2022 crypto downturn, betting on blockchain's long-term potential as the foundation for real-world payments.
At Kulipa, Michael leads the engineering of a fully on-chain card issuance infrastructure, bringing his expertise in large-scale commerce systems to bridge stablecoin settlement with Visa and Mastercard payment networks.
Since launching in February 2025, Kulipa has issued over 120,000 cards, signed 20 enterprise customers including Flutterwave and Solflare, and achieved 70% month-over-month transaction volume growth, backed by $9.2M in total funding.
