Mike Kelland is Co-Founder and CEO of Planetary Technologies, a climate tech company pioneering ocean alkalinity enhancement to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere while reversing ocean acidification.

Mike holds a degree in electrical engineering from Carleton University and previously founded BoldRadius, a software consultancy acquired by Lightbend in 2016 where he became VP of Global Services.

Mike is a serial entrepreneur who has founded 10 companies throughout his career, starting with a lawn care business at age 12 and later building websites to fund his university education.

Planetary Technologies raised $11.35M in Series A funding in 2024 and won the $1M XPRIZE Carbon Removal milestone award, delivering the world's first verified ocean alkalinity enhancement carbon credits.

The company secured a $31M offtake agreement with Frontier to remove over 115,000 tons of CO2 by 2030, with a goal to remove one gigaton of carbon annually by 2045.
