Mo Ebrahimkhani

Mo Ebrahimkhani is Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at HexemBio, a pioneering longevity biotech developing the world's first blood stem cell rejuvenation therapy using a proprietary Synthetic Human Yolk Sac platform.
Mo holds an MD from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, completed postdoctoral training at MIT, and serves as a tenured Associate Professor and Director of the Laboratory for Synthetic Biology and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.
As the inventor of HexemBio's core technology and a pioneer in synthetic developmental biology, Mo has been supported by NIH, NSF, and major foundations, with his foundational research published in Nature in February 2024 and featured in the New York Times.
A 3x biotech co-founder, Mo has also co-founded Orgagen Biosciences and Genexgen, and has contributed to research across MIT, Mayo Clinic, and UC Berkeley, accumulating over 4,000 scholarly citations.
HexemBio's platform has demonstrated up to a 10x reduction in bone marrow transplant failure in preclinical studies, secured FDA Orphan Drug Designation, and is backed by over 15 patents with first-in-human trials targeted for 2027.
