Mojtaba Mozaffar

Mojtaba Mozaffar is Co-Founder of Shiraz AI, a Y Combinator-backed robotics startup building robots that learn on the job from a single human demonstration video, targeting high-mix manufacturing automation.
Mojtaba earned his PhD from Northwestern University, where he later served as a Research Assistant Professor, and earned his Bachelor's degree from Sharif University of Technology.
Together with co-founder Navid Aghasadeghi, Mojtaba brings over 20 combined years of robotics expertise, having left elite industry roles to tackle one of manufacturing's hardest unsolved problems.
Mojtaba led whole-body control and manipulation efforts as a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon Robotics, and conducted research in computational mechanics and AI at Northwestern University, amassing over 2,200 academic citations.
Shiraz AI, part of the YC S26 cohort, has already deployed robots to its first customer sites, delivering a full stack of hardware, foundation model, and on-site deployment for manufacturing lines that change every week.
