Muneeb Ali

Muneeb Ali is Co-Founder of Stacks, a Bitcoin Layer 2 blockchain that enables smart contracts and decentralized applications on Bitcoin. He also serves as CEO of Trust Machines, building the largest ecosystem of Bitcoin apps.
Muneeb earned his PhD in Computer Science from Princeton University in 2017, specializing in distributed systems, and his dissertation was nominated for the ACM SIGCOMM award. He studied Computer Science at LUMS and went through Y Combinator in 2014.
Muneeb is co-author of the Proof-of-Transfer (PoX) consensus mechanism and has over 1,900 research citations. He gives guest lectures on Bitcoin and crypto at Princeton and was a technical advisor to HBO's Silicon Valley.
Stacks raised over $75 million from investors including Union Square Ventures, Y Combinator, Lux Capital, Digital Currency Group, and Breyer Capital. The project completed the first SEC-qualified token offering in 2019.
Stacks serves 350 million-plus monthly API requests and has unlocked billions in Bitcoin capital for DeFi, NFTs, and decentralized applications. The platform anchors all transactions to Bitcoin's blockchain for maximum security.
