Nathan Arnold

Nathan Arnold is Co-Founder and CEO of Photon Queue, an Illinois-based quantum hardware company building high-efficiency free-space quantum memory systems for next-generation quantum computing.
Nathan earned his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he spent his graduate studies in Paul Kwiat's Quantum Information Group developing the core technology that became Photon Queue, and previously honed diverse skills through more than 5 years at Sandia National Laboratories.
Nathan is a fellow at Chain Reaction Innovations at Argonne National Laboratory and has been an invited speaker at the Photonic Quantum Computing workshop at IEEE Quantum Week, positioning him as a leading voice in quantum photonics commercialization.
Nathan has led Photon Queue through the Duality Quantum Accelerator and Creative Destruction Lab programs, and secured an oversubscribed $4M seed round led by Playground Global, with co-investors including Cerberus Capital, Illinois Ventures, and Roadrunner Venture Studios.
Photon Queue has deployed its first commercial systems at Sandia National Laboratories and the University of Maryland, won the Q2B Startup Pitch Competition, and is expanding manufacturing operations into Albuquerque, New Mexico, backed by a $500K state grant.
