Navneet Dalal

Navneet Dalal is the Co-Founder and CEO of Matic (Matician), a Mountain View-based consumer robotics company pioneering fully autonomous home robots powered by computer vision and AI. He is a repeat founder and a globally recognized pioneer in computer vision and deep learning.
Navneet holds a PhD in Computer Vision and is best known for his landmark thesis on Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG), which remained the state-of-the-art in computer vision research for 10 years and has amassed over 35,000 citations. He was also an early employee at Like.com, a facial recognition startup acquired by Google in 2010.
Navneet co-founded Flutter (YC W12), a startup that built on-device hand-gesture recognition that became the number one Mac App Store app in 72 countries in 2012 and was acquired by Google in 2013 after its algorithms outperformed Google's own. Post-acquisition, he worked at Google Nest alongside Tony Fadell, gaining insight into the future of home autonomy.
At Google Nest, Navneet contributed to the development of the Google Coral Tensor Processing Unit (TPU), giving him a front-row seat to the AI chip revolution and the conviction that Level-5 home robotics was achievable. This experience directly inspired the founding of Matic in 2017.
Matic has shipped over 6,000 robots that have collectively cleaned over 110 million square feet and saved over 31 years of human time. The company has raised over $107M in total funding, achieved a valuation of approximately $650M, and was named by Fast Company as one of the World's Most Innovative Companies of 2026, ranked number 3 in Consumer Electronics.
