Neeraj Arora

Neeraj is CEO for India and MENA at General Catalyst, a global venture capital firm with over $43 billion in assets under management. He founded Venture Highway, which merged with General Catalyst in 2024, and has backed companies like Meesho, Sharechat, Moglix, and MPL at their earliest stages.
Neeraj was Global Head of Business at WhatsApp, where he led the $19 billion sale to Facebook in 2014. Prior to WhatsApp, he served as Principal of Corporate Development at Google and holds an MBA from Indian School of Business.
Neeraj serves as a Board Member of the UCSF Foundation and the IIT Delhi Endowment Fund. He co-founded HalloApp, a privacy-focused social app, with former WhatsApp colleagues in 2020.
Under Neeraj's leadership, General Catalyst announced a $5 billion commitment to India over five years, targeting AI, healthcare, defense tech, and fintech. The firm's India portfolio includes Zepto, PB Health, Raphe mPhibr, and Jeh Aerospace.
Venture Highway's early bets on Meesho and Sharechat became category-defining companies in India's startup ecosystem. Neeraj's work at WhatsApp helped build a platform that now serves over 2.5 billion users globally.
