Niccolò Maurizi

Niccolò Maurizi is Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at D-Heart, an Italian medtech company pioneering the world's first smartphone-connected ECG device for accessible cardiac diagnostics.
Maurizi earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Pavia and Almo Collegio Borromeo, attended Harvard Summer School in Genetic Engineering and Neurobiology, and trained as a Visiting Scientist at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine specializing in cardiac structural diseases of genetic origin.
Driven by a deeply personal mission, Maurizi suffered a myocardial infarction at age 16, which inspired him to become a cardiologist and transform his own health challenge into a global healthcare innovation.
Alongside his role at D-Heart, Maurizi serves as Chief Resident in Cardiology at CHUV Lausanne University Hospital in Switzerland and as a Researcher at the University of Florence, focusing on cardiomyopathies and digital health.
D-Heart is distributed across 24 countries with its app available in 10 languages, and has been honored with the Red Dot Award 2018, the Compasso d'Oro 2020, and Italy's prestigious Premio Nazionale per l'Innovazione.
