Nicholas Donahue

Nicholas Donahue is the Founder and CEO of Drafted, a San Francisco-based AI platform that generates custom residential floor plans and exterior designs in minutes at a fraction of traditional architecture costs.
Growing up in a homebuilding family, with his father building homes for large-scale developers and his mother selling materials to major builders along the East Coast, Nick developed a deep understanding of the housing industry's inefficiencies from an early age. He studied Mechanical Engineering at North Carolina State University before dropping out to pursue entrepreneurship, and previously worked as a Process Engineer at Dell Technologies.
Nick is a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and a repeat founder with hard-earned conviction in AI-driven housing innovation. His philosophy centers on full automation over hybrid models, having learned from his prior venture that technology must replace, not just assist, human workflows.
Prior to Drafted, Nick co-founded Atmos, a Y Combinator-backed (S20) custom home design startup that raised $20M from Khosla Ventures and Sam Altman, scaled to 40 employees, generated $7M in revenue, and designed $200M worth of homes before shutting down amid rising interest rates. He also co-founded NextUp Music and served as Community Director at Hilo.
Drafted has raised $1.65M at a $35M post-money valuation from investors including Convective Capital's Bill Clerico, Stripe's Patrick Collison, Jack Altman, and Josh Buckley. Since launching publicly, the platform has attracted approximately 1,000 daily users, delivering complete home plans priced between $1,000 and $2,000.
