Paul Conyngham is the Founder and CEO of Gamgee Technologies (YC S26), a biotech company building AI-powered personalized mRNA cancer vaccines for dogs, with a long-term vision of advancing N-of-1 medicine across species.
Paul is a Sydney-based machine learning engineer with 17 years of experience in AI, data science, and electrical and computer systems engineering, having worked at organizations such as Woolworths Group and Aurecon.
Paul taught himself genomics to design what is believed to be the first fully computationally designed mRNA cancer vaccine delivered to a dog, using AI tools including ChatGPT and AlphaFold, collaborating with scientists at UNSW.
Prior to Gamgee, Paul co-founded Core Intelligence Technologies, an applied AI consultancy serving startups, banks, supermarket chains, insurance companies, and the Department of Defence, and served as Director of the Data Science and AI Association of Australia (DSAI).
Gamgee launched with a $4 million Seed round led by Founders Fund, with backing from Y Combinator and notable angel investors including the co-founder of Dropbox; clinical studies are already underway in Australia.
