Jamie Palmer is Co-Founder and CTO at Icarus Robotics, a New York-based space robotics startup building a general-purpose robotic labor force for low Earth orbit using embodied AI.
Jamie grew up in Tipperary, Ireland, earned a Bachelor of Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, and completed a Master's in Robotics from Columbia University on a full scholarship, researching intelligent dexterous manipulation in the ROAM lab.
Jamie brings deep robotics expertise shaped by high-stakes environments, including engineering experience with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team and autonomous hospital robot deployments during the pandemic.
Prior to Icarus, Jamie served as Founder in Residence at Entrepreneur First, conducted robotics research at Trinity College Dublin's Robotics and Innovation Lab, and interned at Akara Robotics in Dublin.
Icarus secured a $6.1M seed round in September 2025 and signed a mission management contract with Voyager Technologies to deploy its free-flying robot platform Joyride to the International Space Station in 2027.
