Paul Conyngham

Paul Conyngham is the Founder and CEO of Gamgee (YC S26), a veterinary biotech company building personalised mRNA cancer vaccines for dogs, backed by Y Combinator.
A Sydney-based electrical and computing engineer with 17 years in machine learning and data science, Paul previously co-founded Core Intelligence Technologies and served as a director of the Data Science and AI Association of Australia (DSAI).
Paul's mission was sparked by a deeply personal experience: when his rescue dog Rosie was diagnosed with advanced mast cell cancer and conventional treatments failed, he used AI tools including ChatGPT and AlphaFold to design what researchers described as the first fully computationally designed personalised mRNA cancer vaccine delivered to a dog.
Working with scientists at the UNSW RNA Institute and the Ramaciotti Centre for Genomics, Paul's pioneering effort attracted global media attention and the backing of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, ultimately leading to Gamgee's acceptance into Y Combinator's Summer 2026 batch.
Gamgee is currently running clinical trials in Australia and accepting cases globally, with a goal of making personalised cancer treatment accessible to every dog that needs it, while also pointing toward broader implications for human oncology.
