Paula Runsten

Paula Runsten is the Co-Founder and CEO of Rebaba, a Stockholm-based cleantech startup pioneering circular battery energy storage systems by giving retired EV batteries a second life for commercial and industrial use.
Paula studied MSc Mechanical Engineering at Lund University (2018-2023), built a self-driving carbon-fibre electric Formula car, and gained hands-on industry experience at Northvolt, Tesla, and McKinsey and Company.
Paula's time at Northvolt, working on gigafactory-scale production, inspired her to pursue a leaner, more circular alternative to new battery manufacturing, leading to Rebaba's founding philosophy of 'We don't need gigafactories.'
Under Paula's leadership, Rebaba won the KPMG Global Tech Innovator 2025 award, reached the Slush 100 Semifinal, and secured a Vinnova-backed national collaboration with Stena Recycling, OKQ8 Group, and RISE Research Institutes of Sweden.
Rebaba has closed a $4.6M oversubscribed seed round led by Sistafund, operates commercial deployments across Sweden, and is expanding manufacturing capacity across Europe with a CircularHub facility targeting 40 MWh annual capacity.
