Peter Sarlin

Peter Sarlin is CEO and Co-Founder of Silo AI, Europe's largest private AI lab, which was acquired by AMD in 2024 for 665 million euros in Europe's largest AI acquisition. He also serves as Professor of Practice at Aalto University, specializing in machine learning and AI.
Peter earned his PhD in machine learning from Turku Centre for Computer Science in 2013 and studied at London School of Economics, Stockholm School of Economics, and Stockholm University. He founded Infolytika Ventures in 2013 before spinning out Silo AI in 2017.
Peter has advised the European Central Bank and IMF on AI-based approaches to financial stability surveillance. He authored the book Mapping Financial Stability published by Springer in 2014 and serves as Chairman of PostScriptum and Foundation PS.
Under Peter's leadership, Silo AI grew to over 300 employees with 125+ PhDs, delivering 200+ production-grade AI implementations for clients including Honda, Rolls-Royce, Philips, and Intel. The company launched open-source multilingual LLMs Poro and Viking.
Silo AI developed the SiloGen platform and established AMD's global AI center of excellence, continuing operations from Finland. Peter now chairs NestAI and leads initiatives coordinating over 100 million euros in AI research investments to strengthen Europe's AI competitiveness.
