Philip Meng

Philip Meng is the CEO and Founder of Shepherd (YC S26), an AI-powered memory platform that unifies every tool a team uses into a single indexed knowledge layer for agents to act on.
Philip attended Phillips Academy Andover and was admitted to Stanford University (CS + EE), but chose to defer in favor of building Shepherd after being accepted into Y Combinator's S26 batch as a high school senior.
Philip is a $25,000 Davidson Fellow Scholar and published AI researcher with a Spotlight Presentation at NeurIPS 2025, focusing on NLP fairness and dialectal bias in large language models.
Prior to Shepherd, Philip co-founded a High School Startup Incubator with 37 chapters across 8 countries and 9 states, and hosted a founder podcast where he interviewed 20+ CEOs and amassed 17.7M views across 123 founder profiles.
Shepherd was backed by Y Combinator in the S26 batch with $500K in seed funding, positioning Philip as one of the youngest YC founders to build an enterprise AI memory infrastructure company.
