Philipp Reißel is Co-Founder and CEO of amber (formerly amberSearch), an Aachen-based AI platform that helps small and medium-sized enterprises unlock, structure, and operationalise their internal organisational knowledge through a single AI-powered search and automation interface.

Philipp studied Engineering and pursued a Master of Science in Simulation Science at RWTH Aachen University, gaining hands-on experience at Porsche Engineering, the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT, and the Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components lab at RWTH Aachen.

Philipp identified early on that transformer-based AI technology would be transformative for enterprise knowledge management, co-building amber's AI Data Layer before large language models became mainstream. His philosophy centers on context-first AI: structuring company data before any model touches it to deliver precise, GDPR-compliant answers.

Philipp co-founded amber in 2021 alongside Bastian Maiworm and Igli Manaj, steering the company through a pre-seed round, a EUR 2.1M Seed led by Ventech in March 2025, and a EUR 7M Series A co-led by Ventech and NRW.Venture in August 2026.

Under Philipp's leadership, amber has grown to 60 employees and more than 400 active customers across manufacturing, engineering, IT consulting, and consumer goods, including brands such as Ritter Sport, Scheidt and Bachmann, and Zentis, with plans to expand into Benelux and the Nordics.
