Pietari Virkkunen is Co-Founder at Last Accounting Company (LAC), a Y Combinator-backed (YC S26) agent-native accounting firm replacing both outsourced accountants and legacy accounting software for startups and SMBs.

Pietari holds an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Aalto University and built his career across Tech, Private Equity, and Venture Capital prior to founding LAC.

Pietari identified a critical gap in the market where founders and CFOs were stuck between slow accounting firms, clunky legacy software, and disconnected internal systems.

Before LAC, Pietari gained experience in the Tech, PE, and VC sectors, bringing a strong cross-disciplinary foundation in engineering, finance, and operations to his co-founder role.

LAC, part of YC Summer 2026 batch, is actively onboarding its first customers and has gained media recognition in Finland's leading publication Helsingin Sanomat, signaling early traction in the AI-native accounting space.
