Dr. Pilar Pérez-Romero, PhD is the Founder and Advisor of Vaxdyn, a Spanish biotech spin-off pioneering vaccines and monoclonal antibodies against antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections.
She earned her B.S. in Biology and her PhD in Microbiology from the University of Seville, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan, before rising to Associate Professor of Virology at the University of Notre Dame.
Dr. Pérez-Romero co-founded Vaxdyn while leading the Infectious Diseases Group at the Institute of Biomedicine of Seville, translating her deep virology and vaccinology research directly into a commercial venture.

Vaxdyn's lead candidate KapaVax, backed by CARB-X and supported by the Botin Foundation, is advancing in late preclinical development to combat multi-drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii, a critical global public health threat.
