Pol Forn-Díaz

Pol Forn-Diaz is Co-Founder and Chief Hardware Architect at Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech, Europe's only full-stack quantum computing company, where he drives the hardware architecture of superconducting fluxonium qubit systems.
He earned his PhD in Physics from TU Delft in 2010 under the supervision of flux qubit pioneer Prof. J.E. Mooij, followed by postdoctoral stints at Caltech, IQC Waterloo, and as a Visiting Scholar at MIT.
Pol was awarded Spain's prestigious Ramon y Cajal fellowship by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, and has published 19 articles in high-impact journals including Nature Physics and Nature Communications.
Since 2019, he leads the Quantum Computing Technology Group at IFAE in Barcelona, where he established the first superconducting qubit lab in Spain, and also co-founded optics startup MEETOPTICS in 2018.
Qilimanjaro has deployed eight quantum systems, raised over 24M euros in funding including a 19.6M euro Series A led by Indra Group, and integrated three of its quantum systems into the Barcelona Supercomputing Center.
